The media tell us that BP is trying to stop the oil. But that doesn’t appear to be the case at all. Quite the opposite seems to be going on; they are trying to find a way to harvest it, not stop it. So what appears to be an event of unprecedented enviromental catastrophe appears inconsequential in the calculations of BP. And that’s not only about as outrageous as anything could be, but it’s also telling, telling not only about BP, but about the theory that corporations and their fictional ‘free market’ can safely and happily and BLINDLY be trusted to do what is best.
